St. Clair College is proud to have been the first postsecondary institution to open a campus downtown. Three buildings make up our Downtown Campus and include the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts, which is home to the School of Media, Art & Design. It offers students the best view in Southern Ontario - a spectacular riverfront landscape with an unobstructed view of the Detroit skyline, walking paths along the river, sculpture gardens and more. The building features a 1,200 seat professional theatre, which acts as the stage for our Music Theatre Performance and Entertainment Technology students, to choreograph and perform their musicals and productions throughout the year.
Just a couple of blocks south of this building at Victoria and University Ave. is the state-of-the-art MediaPlex. The facility is the only one of its kind in Canada and the only one of three in the world and offers Journalism, Media Convergence and Public Relations students classrooms, three computer labs, an open computer lab for student projects and the heart of the newsroom - a learning lab for television, radio, print and online news filing experiences that will simulate for students what it's like to work in a newsroom. It is complete with cameras, studios, editing suites, and news feeds from around the country.
The newest addition to our Downtown Campus is the Zekelman School of Business at One Riverside Drive, directly across the street from the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts. This new facility features lecture labs for students studying in Business, International Business Management and the new Data Analytics for Business.
Students will also enjoy the chance to hang out, meet friends, or complete their assignments in the TD Student Centre, located directly across the street from the MediaPlex. The footprint of St. Clair College is growing to better serve students!
There are 19 programs taught at this campus.
