St. Clair College Veterinary Technician student Belal Elkadri is celebrating a milestone achievement – and sharing the joy with a very special feline friend.
Elkadri has been accepted to the School of Veterinary Medicine at St. Matthew's University in the Cayman Islands, marking an exciting next chapter in a journey fueled by a lifelong love of animals and a strong commitment to veterinary care.
As he completes his final semester in the Veterinary Technician Program at St. Clair College, Belal credits the program's blend of hands-on and theory-based learning for preparing him with the confidence and skills needed for this next step.
"I am thrilled to be attending the School of Veterinary Medicine at St. Matthews University," said Elkadri. "I have always loved working with animals and have truly found my place in the veterinary medicine field."
He calls the two years of study at St. Clair College's School of Health Sciences some of the best times of his life and feels prepared to take on the next challenge.
"I am confident that the hands-on and theory-based training I have received will greatly benefit me in the next step of my Veterinary Medicine education," Elkadri said. "I am truly grateful for the opportunity that the articulation agreement between St. Clair College and St. Matthew's University has provided for me."
Adding heart to this academic success is Lukah, the colony cat pictured with Elkadri. Lukah was his favourite colony cat – and was recently adopted, turning Elkadri's achievement into a double celebration. It's a fitting reflection of his compassion and dedication to animal welfare, a future veterinarian helping shape brighter futures, one success story at a time.
Congratulations, Belal, on your acceptance into St. Matthew's University, and on giving Lukah a loving home – proof that sometimes the best news comes in pairs.
