Good Luck Noxious

For the first time since 2019, the Overwatch World Cup is underway at BlizzCon in Anaheim, California. One of our own Saints Varsity players Thierry Whitehead, a first year student in Business Administration - Marketing who goes by the in-game name Noxious, has been selected for Team Canada.

The world cup tournament began with 40 teams representing countries all around the world. Team Canada successfully navigated qualifiers to earn one of sixteen spots at the main event in Anaheim. So far, the team has battled through the group stage finishing with a record of 2-1 with wins over Australia and Brazil as well as a loss to Great Britain.

With Team Canada finishing second in their group, they have secured a spot in the top 8 single elimination playoff. A tough draw will see the team take on South Korea, favourites to win the World Cup, in the quarterfinals.

If you are interested in watching, the game will be broadcasted on https://www.twitch.tv/playoverwatch at 12:30pm ET today.
