After an unexpected hiatus of nearly three years, HighRise Basketball was excited about the return of their Hoopin’ Around The Clock fundraising event in November 2022.

On November 25th, many took the courts in St. Clair College’s SportsPlex and Classic Gym.  Over 26 consecutive hours, 367 players, representing 32 teams, groups, and organizations were hosted from across Southwestern Ontario, competing against one another around the clock.

This year, the St. Clair College family strongly represented and supported the event, with 100+ players participating in the following groups of the College:

  • Staff Fitness Basketball Group
  • Student Representative Council
  • Saints Student Athletic Association
  • Saints Women’s Varsity Basketball
  • Saints Men’s Varsity Basketball
  • School of Media, Art, and Design
  • School of Nursing
  • Saints Men’s Varsity Basketball Alumni

Students from the Event Management program also played an integral role in the event.  These students were involved in many key areas, including registration and managing ticket sales, and served as ambassadors to participants, sponsors, and spectators.

Most importantly, thanks to the generosity of the St. Clair Alumni Association, Saints Student Athletic Association, Student Representative Council, and other tremendous community support, they raised $41,000.

This event has now raised $198,000 in total.  This event’s funds will be supporting and further the efforts in our community of The Bridge - Leamington Youth Resource Centre, The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County, Little Hands Kids for a Cause, Neighbourhood Charitable Alliance, St. Clair Saints Athlete Sponsorship, Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation Patient Assistance Fund, and Windsor Pinoy Athletics.
