From gaming to tech-centered activities, the St. Clair College Esports program is excited to announce the return of the 2026 March Break Camp for ages 8 and up in the Esports Nexus located at St. Clair College's South Campus.
The camps are instructed by a combination of varsity esports coaches, players and students from the Esports Administration and Entrepreneurship diploma program.
Campers will participate in a variety of activities including in-game development, technical skills in esports content and production, and learning about the importance of health during off-screen time.
"The continued success of our camp is reflected in the growth we see in our participants," said Valerie Shih-Lau, Marketing and Events Manager, Esports. "Watching new and returning campers take on new challenges every year is what drives us to keep improving."
This year, counsellors are elevating the camp curriculum to include even more hands-on activities and are excited to welcome both new and returning campers.
"The St. Clair Esports Camp has become a staple for the youth and community here in Windsor-Essex. Our College program prides itself on experiential learning, so we integrate the same practices in the camp with hands-on learning for campers," Shih-Lau said. "It's a truly unique opportunity that you can't get anywhere else."
Camp activities include:
- Developing in-game skills.
- Learning a balance between games and physical well-being.
- Learning catered to varying skill levels.
- Structured activities covering effective practice techniques, performance reviews, scrimmage etiquette and more.
- Opportunity to explore and try different roles in Esports production such as shout casting, directing, game observing and more.
- Opportunity to explore and create Esports centered content such as video editing, streaming and more.
- Compete in tournaments against fellow camp-goers throughout the week.
- Featured game titles may include Rocket League, VALORANT, Fortnite, and League of Legends. Offering will be flexible to suit the wants and needs of camp-goers.
The camp runs from March 16 to 20, 2026, and runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"I wish I had this opportunity when I was younger, but this kind of technology was not accessible," Shih-Lau added. "St. Clair has done a great job of creating an educational space with world-class technology at its venue.
