Taylor received the Visionary Award for her work in gender equality and her belief in the value of inclusivity.

Susan Taylor, Program Manager of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Student Experience in the Genesis Entrepreneurship Centre, received the Visionary Award Tuesday, during WEST’s International Women’s Day virtual gala.

Taylor was one of several recipients of the Journey Toward Success Award by Women’s Enterprise Skills Training of Windsor Inc. (WEST) during a virtual ceremony that recognized several community partners who invested in helping WEST and its participants achieve their goals.

Taylor received the Visionary Award for her work in gender equality and her belief in the value of inclusivity.

“St Clair College has had a strong and long-standing relationship with WEST, supporting and facilitating many programs, in particular, the Women in Skilled Trades program,” Taylor said in her address during WEST’s virtual International Women’s Day gala.

“I have been involved with WEST through several different programs, as a mentor, workshop facilitator and also had the recent pleasure of hosting one of their empowering (EWE) clients as an intern at my office within the Genesis Entrepreneurship Centre.”

Taylor founded St. Clair’s women in STEM Club, which supports the college’s female students in male-dominated programs. The STEM Club has helped WEST through a networking event that allowed them to donate funds to support the Women In Skilled Trades program.

“Thank you to WEST, their incredible staff and clients for allowing me to be a part of such an incredible organization,” Taylor said.
