St. Clair College Donates Beds, Ventilators and Supplies to Local Hospitals
Windsor, Ontario - St. Clair College will be delivering equipment from its Health Sciences programs to local hospitals as the healthcare institutions prepare for the possibility of an increase in patients requiring treatment for COVID-19.
College Releases 2019 Public Salary Disclosure List
In accordance with the Ontario Public Salary Disclosure Act, 1996, St. Clair College provides our 2019 calendar year list of all employees who have earned in excess of $100,000 in salary and taxable benefits.
College cancels student placements and clinicals
As part of the increased levels of containment protocols initiated by the Canadian Government regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, St. Clair College has decided to cancel all placements and clinicals, effective immediately until further notice.
The College will be working with its placement partners and the regulatory bodies to create a plan of completion.
Scholarship Cheques Mailed to Students
Students who have been awarded a 2020 scholarship will receive their cheques in the mail.
The College mailed the cheques this week, after the planned scholarship awards presentation nights March 26 and March 30 were forced to be cancelled over concerns with COVID-19.
The cheques were mailed to addresses on file with the College.
Tutoring service for students continues online
“Let’s find a way to keep our students learning and our tutors earning.”
That was the motto adopted by St. Clair’s Retention Coordinators Irene Stewart and Marko Jovanovic when they were thinking of a way to maintain the College’s Tutoring Services in response to COVID-19.
“We wanted to find a way to keep tutoring going,” Stewart said.
Telecom companies waive fees for Internet overages
With St. Clair College planning to start online classes March 23, we are pleased to hear Canadian Telecommunication companies will provide assistance to their customers in response to COVID-19.
Bell, Rogers and Telus are waiving extra usage fees for all residential Internet customers for a period of time.
College employees to work from home, student supports still available
The impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve rapidly.
Ontario Premier Doug Ford declared a State of Emergency due to the COVID-19 outbreak and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau urged Canadians to practice social distancing, to work remotely and to stay home as much as possible.
College moves to close labs and clinics
St. Clair College is immediately suspending its on-campus labs and clinics until further notice, including post-secondary, apprenticeship, English for Academic Purposes and Continuing Education.
This move follows the College’s announcement Friday that it would move from face-to-face classes to online lectures, through to April 17.
Online classes to begin March 23
St. Clair College will move to online classes starting March 23 following March Break as a proactive response to the current declared pandemic of COVID-19.
The move from face-to-face classes to online learning stems from the necessity declared by Public Health officials to eliminate the potential of a virus outbreak.
