The School of Health Sciences at St. Clair College is proudly stepping up in support of local healthcare through its enthusiastic participation in Hats On for Healthcare, an annual fundraising initiative in support of Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH).
This year, the School of Health Sciences has been recognized for showing strong competition, where St. Clair College students are demonstrating both school pride and community commitment.
At the forefront of this inspiring initiative are two outstanding student leaders:
- Jack Ryan – Biomedical Engineering Technology Program
- Sarah Al-Nazzal – Cardiovascular Technology Program
"Their leadership, enthusiasm, and dedication have energized fellow students and reinforced the School of Health Science's commitment to supporting healthcare in Windsor-Essex," said Dr. Stephanie De Franceschi, Chair of the School of Health Sciences.
During a recent meeting with WRH and event organizers, it was highlighted that this year's fundraising priorities are directly connected to the development of the new hospital.
For students who are preparing to become the next generation of healthcare professionals, supporting the future of local healthcare infrastructure is both meaningful and impactful.
"Seeing our students take the lead in supporting The Fancsy Family Hospital speaks volumes about the character and commitment within our school," said Dr. De Franceschi. "They understand that healthcare extends beyond the classroom and clinical placements. Contributing to the future of our local hospital demonstrates leadership, compassion, and a deep connection to the community they will soon serve."
By participating in Hats on for Healthcare, students are not only raising funds - but they are also investing in the very system they will soon work within. Their involvement reflects the strength of student leadership and the strong partnership between education and healthcare in our region.
"This fundraiser connects the students to the healthcare community," said Sarah Al-Nazzal. "As a future Cardiovascular Technologist, it is meaningful to contribute to the new Fancsy Family Hospital along with the cardiac services that will benefit patient care in our region."
"The Hats on for Healthcare initiative connects local communities and educational facilities together with a common goal: providing funding for new medical equipment and devices, while also contributing to the long-term vision of the new Fancy Family Hospital," said Jack Ryan. "Connecting with this community has been inspiring thus far and hope this compassion and camaraderie continues as I begin my career in this field."
"Throughout my time in the Biomedical Engineering Technology program at St. Clair College, I have grown to further understand the importance of the availability of essential equipment in our local hospitals and believe investing time in this fundraiser can support the future of our healthcare landscape," Ryan said.
Supporters can follow and contribute to the team's progress.
