It was a night full of learning and laughter as members of the Essex County 4-H Veterinary Club gathered with St. Clair College Veterinary Technician students for an engaging session focused on a topic that's creepy, crawly and crucial: parasites.
The Essex 4-H Association is a youth organization serving the communities of Windsor, Kingsville, Leamington, Belle River, Wheatley and Essex.
The evening was both educational and interactive, offering club members a hands-on opportunity to dive into the fascinating world of parasitology.
From identifying common parasites in pets and livestock to learning how they affect animal health and prevention methods, the session sparked plenty of curious questions and enthusiastic discussions.
The highlight was seeing the club members light up with interest as they looked through microscopes and examined samples up close.
"Looking at them under the microscope was my favourite part. I actually want to learn more now," said one of the participants.
The St. Clair College Veterinary Technician program is thankful to the Essex County 4-H Veterinary Club for its curiosity, energy, and commitment to learning more about animal health.
"These future veterinary technicians and animal advocates are already showing they've got what it takes to make a difference," said Dr. Stephanie De Franceschi, the Chair of the School of Health Sciences.
