Students at St. Clair College are hosting a fundraising event to benefit a local charity that provides children with beds.

A Movie Night will be held on April 9 at the historical Capitol Theatre, 121 University Ave. W., to raise funds for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a not-for-profit organization.

The Disney hit movie Sing 2 is to be featured. Before the film, attendees can engage in fun games with the winning participants receiving prizes.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP) is an international organization responding to a real community problem of child bed lessness. The SHP motto is “No Child Sleeps on The Floor In Our Town” and believes in providing each child with a comfortable bed to improve their sleep quality and restore dignity to families. In short, SHP aims to end child bed lessness.

To aid in this cause students in the Event Management program have joined the over 230 Chapters in the USA, our two counterparts in Canada, and founded the Windsor Chapter of Sleep In Heavenly Peace.

Student Rajdeep Kaur, organizer of the event, along with community partner Julie Ann Milling, a volunteer in Sleep in Heavenly Peace, encourages students and local families to be a part of the event to make difference. “Giving is not just about donating, it’s about making a difference," said Kaur.
