The Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services requires all Security Guards in Ontario to successfully complete Basic Training and Testing to be eligible for a Security Guard License. This course introduces learners to the security industry with a focus on Ontario legislation, the Private Security & Investigative Services Act, powers of arrest, and use-of-force training. Additional topics include health and safety, report writing, and effective communication skills.
Participants must provide a copy of a valid Police Clearance and First Aid/CPR certificate at the start of the course.
