This course is designed in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Transportation Graduated Licensing System. It meets and exceeds the standards for riders who currently hold an M2 license and are seeking to upgrade to a full Class M motorcycle license.
This course prepares participants for the M2 Exit Road Test and the transition to a full Class M motorcycle license. In addition to developing the skills required for the road test, participants will learn advanced riding techniques and safe riding practices, including:
- Roadside stops
- Highway riding
- Group riding
- Lane changes
- Cornering and curves
- Intersections
- Riding in residential and commercial areas
Participants will be required to bring their own insured motorcycles for the duration of this course. No motorized tricycles are permitted.
Prerequisite:
- A valid Ontario M2 motorcycle license held for at least 22 months*
- The minimum holding period is 18 months for participants who have successfully completed an approved M1 Exit course
- Participants must provide their own insured, roadworthy motorcycle for use during this course.
- Training motorcycles are not provided and may not be used for this course
- Participants must be 16 years of age or older to enroll in this course.
- Participants under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver prior to partaking in this course.
- All participants must sign a course waiver in the presence of a Senior course instructor.
Please Note:
- Participants must successfully complete the MOST II skills assessment in the college parking lot before proceeding to the on-road portion of the course.
- Participants who do not successfully pass the MOST II skills assessment will not be permitted to continue with the on-road portion of the course, and no refund will be issued.
- Participants are expected to have a minimum of 18 months of riding experience, consistent with the licensing requirements for this course.
The following items are mandatory for participation in this motorcycle training course:
- A sturdy jacket (leather, denim, or other durable material) and long pants (heavy slacks or jeans). Clothing with holes will not be permitted. A waterproof jacket is recommended, as courses run rain or shine.
- Sturdy boots (riding, work, or hiking boots) or motorcycle shoes that fully cover and support the ankles. Only closed-toe, flat-heeled footwear is permitted.
- Full-fingered leather gloves or full-fingered motorcycle riding gloves.
- An approved motorcycle helmet. A full-face helmet with a face shield is recommended. Half helmets and open-faced helmets are acceptable; however, novelty or beanie-style helmets are not permitted. (Exceptions may apply.)
- Eye protection, such as a helmet face shield, goggles, safety glasses, or sunglasses. All eyewear must be impact-resistant.
- A valid Ontario M2 motorcycle license.
Participants must wear all required safety gear and have their valid Ontario M2 Class License at all times while participating in the course.
*It is mandatory to complete the three consecutive days of this course, including the M2 Exit Test, to be eligible for the M Class License.*
