Management Studies Certificate | St. Clair College


This professional certificate program is designed for students seeking employment as First-Line or Middle managers, or those individuals who wish to update and expand their skills in order to advance their career. Students will explore the four main management activities/functions, Planning, Organizing, Leading and Controlling. Those who have spent a minimum of 5 years in a Management Level position may be eligible to apply for a Prior Learning Assessment (PLA).

Students who successfully complete the following courses will be eligible to receive a Certificate in Management Studies. In addition the Human Resources courses may be accredited by the Human Resources Professional Association of Ontario towards the Comprehensive Knowledge Exam.

The following 10 courses are required:

BUS 108 - Introduction to Canadian Business
BUS 300 -  Business Law
BUS 434 - Supervisory Development
COM 200 - Communications & Today’s Workplace
MGN 105 - Introduction to Human Resources (Replaces MGN 340)
MGN 310 - Organizational Behaviour
MGN 320 - Management Principles
MGN 450 - Training & Development
MGN 490 - Employment Law
