This course will certify successful candidates to teach the elements of the Lifesaving Society's "Lifesaving" and "Swim" courses. The Lifesaving Instructor Course portion certifies instructors to teach the Lifesaving Society's: Canadian Swim Patrol Program, Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, Wading Pool Attendant, Lifesaving Fitness, Distinction, Diploma, Basic and Emergency First Aid, CPR - A, CPR - B, and CPR - C. The Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Course portion prepares the instructor to teach and evaluate: Swimming strokes and related skills found in the Lifesaving Society Swim for Life program. Candidates acquire proven teaching methods, planning skills, and a variety of stroke development drills and correction techniques. 100% Attendance is required. Prerequisites: 16 years of age by the end of the course, Bronze Cross or NLS certification (need not be current).
