(Ancaster, Ontario) - The St. Clair College Women’s Basketball team got back on the winning track with a 63-56 victory over Redeemer University College in Ancaster Saturday afternoon. With the win the Lady Saints improved their record to 7-5 which is 5th place in the OCAA’s West Division standings.

In a physical game that saw 19 lead changes the Saints fell behind 17-15 after the first quarter and 33-30 by halftime. St. Clair made some inroads in the third quarter but saved their best play for the fourth where they pulled ahead late for the 7-point win. Neither team shot over 30% from the floor but St. Clair made 11 triples to just 5 for Redeemer. The Saints also scored 21 points off 26 Redeemer turnovers.

Saints guard Jana Kucera (Chatham, ON) led all scorers with 22 points and was followed closely by point guard Anna Ulicny (Tecumseh, ON/St. Anne) who scored 21 points. Kucera added 8 rebounds, 7 assists to go with 4 steals while Ulicny recorded 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Keirsten Tomkins (Sarnia, ON) notched a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds for St. Clair contributing 4 thefts of her own.
