Students will have the opportunity to apply lecture theory in the laboratory environment and will be introduced to basic patient respiratory assessment, including obtaining history and vital signs, as well as the equipment used for universal precautions, personal protective equipment, medical gas therapy, and airway maintenance. The student will be assessed according to the standards defined in the most current version of the National Competency Framework for Respiratory Therapy.
