This course introduces students to basic electricity concepts, Ohm's law, Watt's law, magnetism and electromagnetism. The design, operation and maintenance principles of motors, generators and transformers are examined. An introduction to electrical schematics and building power distribution diagrams is covered. Power plant controls and instrumentation including process measurements, control loop components and computer applications are studied.
