This course deepens students' understanding of the business side of the performing arts industry. Building upon foundational professional skills, students will explore personal and professional branding, the role of agents and casting directors, industry-standard databases and online platforms, and strategies for self-promotion in a competitive field. In addition, students will develop essential financial literacy skills including personal budgeting, self-employment taxes, and the fundamentals of managing a small business as an independent artist. Through practical exercises, case studies, and portfolio development, students will prepare for the realities of a sustainable performing arts career.
