Indigenous Literature and Storytelling

This course surveys Indigenous literature in Canada. Topics include a study of the various genres of Indigenous literature, literary forms and interpretations both past and present, as well as theoretical applications of the oral and written dissemination of culture and tradition among Indigenous peoples. Students will also examine traditional oratories (storytelling) of the peoples of Turtle Island.
