This course is designed to teach students concepts regarding processing pension, benefits, and payroll for organizations. Human Resources often has oversight of payroll ensuring payments to employees are compliant with laws and contractual obligations. Students will be able to apply concepts regarding group benefits plan management related to group benefits design, claims administration, premium administration, recordkeeping, and communication. The course allows students to gain an understanding of what retirement income needs are and how retirement plans work to meet those needs. Students will learn about the various types and how to administer registered and nonregistered pension plans.
