This course provides an introduction to research methods used in the social sciences, including observation, surveys, and experiments. Students will design studies to test research hypotheses, collect an analyze data, and present their data in APA style. They will calculate descriptive statistics (e.g. mean, standard deviation), select the appropriate inferential statistical test for a given study, and interpret test results. We will also discuss research ethics, sampling methods, and potential problems related to validity.
