This course expands on the student's knowledge in programmable controllers. Students will develop programs focusing on creating good program structure, developing machine sequences, fault logic, and data collection utilizing various hardware supported programming languages. Industrial networks will be utilized to connect programmable controllers to various input/output devices and variable frequency drives. The configuration and integration of electronic operator interfaces with programmable controllers will also be investigated. Through hands-on lab exercises, students will install, configure, program and troubleshoot programmable controller systems and related devices.
