This course introduces the student to programmable controllers and related operator interfaces, communication, and configuration devices. The student will connect to input and output modules various types of input and output devices, both digital and analog. Program instructions including timing, counting, sequencing, and logical operations that are used to control the outputs of the system in response to inputs will be examined utilizing various hardware supported languages. The configuration and integration of electronic operator interfaces with programmable controllers will also be investigated. Through hands-on lab exercises, students will install, configure, program and troubleshoot programmable controller systems and related devices.
