Electrical Rotating Machines | St. Clair College
Course Code
ELT306
Course Credit
5

The study of electromagnetism and induction as they relate to the operating principles of electrical rotating machines. Students will investigate the construction and characteristics of DC and AC machines including DC motors, single-phase and three-phase AC motors, generators and alternators. Studies also include the paralleling of alternators and motor drives to produce useful work. Students will select, operate, and troubleshoot electrical machines in compliance with established guidelines.
