This course is a continuation of Dental Materials I and provides Dental Assisting students with the opportunity to further develop the theoretical knowledge and laboratory competencies required for contemporary dental assisting practice in accordance with current professional standards. Students refine manipulative skills related to dental materials and laboratory procedures. Emphasis is placed on the safe and effective application of laboratory procedures within both foundational knowledge and hands-on practice. Students apply principles of laboratory safety infection prevention and control and professional accountability through a combination of lecture instructor demonstration and supervised laboratory activities that support competency development consistent with entry-to-practice expectations.
