A basic level numeracy course designed to provide or enhance a students competency with respect to basic computational skills. These skills may be required in daily activities, both inside and outside the workplace, or necessary for the successful completion of additional college level courses. This is a pre-employment numeracy course for students in the CICE program and is structured to meet or support their individual vocational goals. Emphasis will be placed on achieving the competency of understanding and using numbers. The content includes whole number calculations, fractions and decimals, areas and perimeter, descriptive statistics, measurement of time, conversions, comparisons and workplace numeracy challenges.
