This advanced analytical chemistry course has an environmental focus: environmental sampling of air, water, soils and sediments, sample preparations, analysis, and quality assurance. The laboratory experiments will involve analysis of chemical parameters of particular importance to the environment and current environmental legislation in Canada. Included also are theory, practice, and calculations related to atomic absorption, GC, HPLC, and spectrophotometry.
