The student will learn and develop skills and sonographic techniques necessary to image abdominal structures with a focus on normal anatomy. Students will integrate relational anatomy, cross-sectional anatomy and physiology with sonographic principles. Students will also be introduced to sonographic presentations of commonly encountered abdominal pathologies. In the mandatory lab setting, the students will be instructed on how to acquire sonographic images of normal anatomy, analyze sonographic data, and formulate technical impressions for physician interpretation.
