This course provides students with practical guidelines, as well as established rules, for developing clear and concise legal documents. The importance of effective communications for paralegals is stressed starting with the incorporation of correct use of basic grammar, spelling and sentence structure. Students gain practical experience in drafting, revising and editing legal communications and documents with emphasis on the fundamentals of utilizing plain language. Students prepare legal correspondence, edit standard precedents, and prepare routine legal documents including memoranda of law and affidavits.
