Intensified scene-study within the studio setting, highly detailed monologue work, an introduction to professional audition techniques, and the beginnng of on-camera performance tools will be delivered in studio settings. The importance of voice and text integration continues to be stressed as ongoing exercises prepare the learner for performance. An in depth exploration of Shakespeare through reading, discussion and performance of selected plays, scenes and monologues from each of the various genres of comedies, histories, tragedies and romances. Students will continue to develop text analysis, research skills, and a disciplined reading schedule. In class readings of two plays and Shakespeare on film will be covered. A practical application of Voice and Text will be integrated into the studies of challenging classical texts. Weekly private acting and voice tutorials will support the students' ongoing development in the field of classical theatre. Students will select material for their tutorials from a range recommended classical texts.
