An introductory course designed to provide the student with the basic skills commonly used in the Industrial Mechanic occupation. The student will gain knowledge of functions, selection, installation, alignment, and general maintenance of couplings, belts and chain drives, and mechanical fasteners. In addition, this course will cover topics such as: Rigging Safety, Rigging Hardware, Basic Hand Signals, Knots and Hitches, Fibre/Wire Ropes Construction, Chain Slings Applications, Formulas and Weight Calculations, and Hand Power Tools.
