In this course, students will gain knowledge of active and passive restraint systems and airbag inflation systems. Disassembly and testing of restraint systems and deployment status will be performed in the lab. Through extensive hands-on experience students will explore both automatic and manual HVAC systems. Industry regulation and refrigerant properties will also be examined. Students will learn about system testing including performance, service practices, and component analyses. The study of current and future propulsion systems includes electric vehicles, hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles. This course also ensures students have a solid grasp of Occupant Safety and vehicular collision avoidance.
