Backpack reporting is a form of news gathering that requires students to acquire skills that enable them to file news stories in the form of video, print, sound and photography from the field, using various forms of digital technology. In this course, students will practice the skills of backpack reporting as they apply to print and web-based or on-line platforms. Focus is on news gathering, content development, fair and balanced judgement, and accurate reporting.
