An advanced study of the hanging, focusing and maintenance of various types of lighting instruments and related equipment, as well as the interpretation of photometric data. Students will study the use of lighting control systems, dimmers, auxiliary equipment and moving lights. The student will be expected to become proficient as a team leader and an active participant in the production process, both as an independent thinker and a collaborative source. The course will also explore the principals of lighting design. Students will also learn the basics of intelligent fixture operation and programming.
