Course Credit

This is an intermediate level course in analytical chemistry that combines classroom discussions with practical, hands-on investigations in the laboratory; its focus will be on sampling and calibration, redox titrations, and spectroscopic instruments and methods. In the classroom, students will be introduced to the concepts of analytical chemistry with real world examples. In the laboratory, students will investigate important analytical targets, using standardized techniques prescribed by regulatory agencies such as the United States Environmental Protection Agency and Ontario's Ministry of Labour and Ministry of Environment.
