This course is a study and application of heavy duty vehicle internal combustion engines. Internal and external forces while an engine is operating greatly affect running and engine longevity. Original engine design features and the effects both negative and positive from the modification of an original design is an integral component of this course. Engine disassembly, measuring, machining, reassembly, diesel cylinder head and valve trains are all major components of this course. The variations between gasoline and diesel engine design will be thoroughly explored.
