(Windsor, Ontario) - Although this program is in its first year of operation, students in the Event Management program are launching a unique fundraising event that will benefit the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women and Families.

The students are responsible for organizing, executing and all the communication plans around this event. The brunch takes place on Saturday April 7th at the City Grill Event Centre from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. The event will include a silent auction table, live music and opportunities to connect with other women in the community.

Co-chair of the event, Daeca Renaud said it's a great learning experience and an event that will benefit a grass roots charity in the community. " It is a huge undertaking but the entire class is working hard to make this event a success for the Welcome Centre," said Renaud. " It was important to all of us that if we were going to take on a class project, that there was a strong community component to help this organization with its need for a new building and to help them addvocate for safe shelter for women and their families."

Kristin Douglas, the Centre's Strategic Partnership Manager was thrilled to be the recipient of this fundraiser. "As a small grass roots organization, we are always challenged with getting the word out and raising money for a much-needed new building. This could not have come at a better time for the Centre."

Tickets are available through Snapd Magazine.
