(Windsor, Ontario) - The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team is headed to the OCAA Championship today being hosted by Centennial College in Scarborough from February 21-24.

The Saints will be taking on the host Centennial Colts in their quarterfinal match at Thursday at 6 pm. The women will be hitting the court tonight for a pre-tournament practice session. St. Clair ended the regular season with a record of 13-5 and in 3rd place in the tough OCAA West Division. St. Clair is currently ranked 3rd in Ontario. The Saints will have their work cut out against one of the hottest teams in the OCAA as the Colts have won their last 12 matches. Centennial ended the regular season in 2nd place in the OCAA East with a record of 15-3. The Colts are currently ranked 8th in Ontario. The winner of the match will advance to the semi-final at 8 pm on Friday against the winner of Humber and Mohawk.

St. Clair won 43 sets and lost 19 while Centennial won 49 and lost 17. The Saints have had a well balanced attack all season with setter Kim Quintanilla (Windsor) spreading the ball around well. Quintanilla is 2nd in the OCAA with 486 assists on the year. St. Clair has 7 players averaging over 2 points/set. Leading the way is rookie Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby) with 3.4 points/set. Veteran Kaila Crough (Tecumseh) is right behind her with 3.3 points/set. Middle Jessica Masse (Cottam) is 4th in the OCAA with 0.72 blocks/set. Libero Julie Ann Milling (Woodstock) leads the OCAA with 3.76 digs per set.
