(Windsor, Ontario) - The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and men’s soccer program is pleased to announce the signing of two top local athletes for the 2018-19 season. Joining the Saints for the upcoming year will be Nick Bauer and Frankie Calvaruso.

Bauer, a native of Windsor, is a graduate of Riverside Secondary School. The 5’9 Centre Midfielder/Winger was a member of the Windsor TFC U18 Academy team most recently. The TFC just finished in 1st Place in the OYSL West Division with a record of 13-1-2. Nick has enrolled in the Computer Systems Technology Networking Program. Nick can’t wait to continue his education and soccer career with the Saints. “I chose St. Clair College because of the opportunity to play higher level soccer with a very successful program and pursue the career of my choice close to home.”

Calvaruso, who is from Tecumseh, just wrapped up his high school career at St. Anne’s Secondary School. The 5’10 Forward/Midfielder also just finished his club season with the Windsor TFC U18 team. Frankie previously played for Waza FC in Michigan. Calvaruso is enrolled in the Biomedical Engineering Technology Program. Frankie is thrilled to be joining the Saints this fall. “I chose St. Clair College so that I can pursue both my academic and athletic career. The soccer program has been very good in recent years and I am looking forward to helping continue that.”

St. Clair Head Coach Mike Baraslievski is excited to have both players with the program this season. “Both Frankie and Nick are great young soccer players that will be solid additions to our program. Their recent success with Windsor TFC will only help in their development with us. Both players are very versatile and I expect them to be key players for our program moving forward.”

St. Clair finished the regular season with a record of 5-3-2 in the OCAA West Division ending up in 3rd place. The Saints dropped their playoff match to the Durham Lords who went on to win OCAA Gold.

St. Clair will open their regular season on the road when they travel to Ancaster to take on the Redeemer Royals on Saturday, September 8. The Saints will open their home schedule on Tuesday, September 11 when they host the Fanshawe Falcons at the Libro Centre Field in Amherstburg at 7 pm. The Saints will play all of their home games at the Libro Centre this season due to the construction of the new Sports Park at the main campus.
