Lighting at St. Clair College

(Windsor, Ontario) - Facilities Management is pleased to announce the completion of the LED lighting upgrades at the Ford Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing (FCEM). Over 1,000 high-efficiency LED fixtures, lamps and sensors were installed and immediately started to reduce energy and improve the facility, receiving positive feedback from staff and students. It also means lower maintenance associated with LEDs and the new lighting control system.

Through this project the College will save over 368,000 kWh of electricity annually and reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 30 metric tonnes.

St. Clair College leveraged the academic and facilities staff, an engineering service provider (MCW) and the Local Distribution Company (Enwin) to get the project complete. Funding was provided by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) under the Post-Secondary Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF).
