1970’s: Chatham Campus Begins Offering Classes
As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary here at St. Clair College we’re taking a moment to look back at the beginning of the Thames Campus…
Campus Director, Sid Keen, announced the Thames Campus would open for the 1971-1972 academic school year.
They would use rented facilities at the Ursuline Business College and the Thames Theatre.
Kent County students would complete their first year in Communication Arts, Business Administration and Technology and then transfer the Windsor Campus for their second year.
St. Clair’s Chatham operations continued to grow and in March of 1979 the installation of athletic and recreational facilities was approved.
The Thames Campus has close to 500 students that year.
