1960’s: St. Clair Holds Its First Convocation
We’re continuing our walk down memory lane as St. Clair College celebrates 50 years...
On May 12, 1968 St. Clair College held its first annual Convocation ceremony at the Cleary Auditorium which is of course now known as the St. Clair College Centre for the Arts.
It was the following May that the Western Ontario Institute for Technology or W.O.I.T. held its final Convocation at the Cleary as well.
Convocation has been held at several locations over the years including the Lincoln Road United Church, the University of Windsor, outside in the College’s South Campus parking lot and downtown at the former Windsor Arena.
Another interesting fact…since 2010 the address to the graduates has been presented by the recipients of the annual Alumni of Distinction Awards.
