“One of the best shows that we have seen”, “The time went by too fast”, “So enjoyable!”

Some of the comments heard from those who attended the “Fiddler on the Loose” show at the Victoria Playhouse in Petrolia on Thursday, May 30, 2013. Led by a violinist/fiddler by the name of Jesse Grandmont, backed up by a trio of young ladies the nine performers displayed talent and versatility. The voices of all nine were outstanding. They all played multiple instruments . For example, keyboard player was accomplished on the harmonica; the lead female vocalist played the violin; one guitarist player the banjo and the mandolin. In addition, all were talented dancers and the show was designed and choreographed to move smoothly from song to song and to keep moving. It was a very enjoyable afternoon for the ˜20 who attended, especially Jean Trudell who won the show’s 50/50 draw.

We followed the show with a very nice dinner at Actor’s Casual Dining which is conveniently located across the parking lot from the theatre. To keep the cost within reasonable limits, we carpooled, and this went very well. Thank you to Marilyn Portt for her efforts in arranging for tickets and dinner reservations.
