Medical & Non-Medical Clinical Placement Requirements

Before any student is allowed into any clinical placement (except the SCC nursing lab), students must have obtained the following medical and non-medical requirements.

MANDATORY MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CLINICAL NURSING COURSES – Nurses Returning To Practice

  • Current St Clair College Health Passport. Health forms may also be obtained from health nurse Room 165 (South Campus)"
  • Preplacement Medical Requirements Form
  • Flu Immunization in the Winter months

MANDATORY NON-MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CLINICAL NURSING COURSES – Nurses Returning To Practice

  • A current Police Clearance with a Vulnerable Sector Police Record Check obtained.
  • Annual Police Clearance Requirements
  • Professional Mask Fit Certificate
  • Mask Fit (completed every 2 years)
  • CPR Level HCP Certificate Card with AED (defib) (Annual Recertification)
  • Standard First Aid
  • Student WSIB
  • Name Badge for clinical. Cards are available for purchase at the IT help desk
  • Pre-clinical courses HCE 112 & HCE 113
  • Pre Requisites: PNR 501/HCE 108, PNR 502, PNR 514/HCE 123N

It is expected the student will carry the police clearance, SCC Health Passport & mask fit certificate with you when in the clinical area. You may be asked for it at any time. Students will not be allowed into clinical areas without the above.
