We will contact every music theatre performance applicant by telephone for an audition appointment. There is no audition fee.

Music Theatre Performance at St. Clair College is a rigorous three year training programme that prepares talented and focused young artists for professional careers. We have industry based faculty, a state of the art theatre facility and graduates actively working within this competitive business. In addition to fulfilling the necessary academic requirements for the Music Theatre Performance program, applicants must also successfully complete a performance audition. The dates and times of the auditions for Fall 2019 are listed below.

For those applying from out of province, or out of country an electronic submission is an acceptable way in which to fulfill the audition component of the entrance requirements to the Music Theatre Performance Programme. For those choosing this path, please contact

What to prepare and bring to your audition:

  • Prepare two contrasting songs, one ballad, one up tempo chosen from the music theatre repertoire; both must be fully memorized.
  • Bring the music for those songs in the correct key for the piano accompanist.
  • Prepare a monologue chosen from a modern play; it must be fully memorized.
  • Bring a copy of your resume.
  • Bring a headshot.

What to expect:

Your audition will begin with a warm up and then you will:

  • Be taught a short dance combination performed with a full group.
  • Present your two songs and one monologue individually.
  • Take a short written test assessing your musical literacy.

Please plan on spending 3 hours at your audition.
