Jay Shewfelt, Athletic Coordinator at St. Clair College, has been named president of the OCAA for a two year term. Jay becomes the 22nd president in the history of the association. The OCAA is composed of 30 community colleges, universities and educational institutions in Ontario.
“I am very excited to take on the role as the President of the OCAA for the next two years. It is great opportunity to represent the OCAA provincially and nationally. We have an excellent new executive in place and we have many new and exciting challenges ahead of us” says Shewfelt.
In his upcoming term, St. Clair College and Windsor and Essex County will be hosting major college championships, including:
- 2009 Canadian College Athletic Association (CCAA) Ping National Golf Championships, October 13-16
- 2009 OCAA Cross Country Championships, October 31
- 2010 OCAA Badminton Championships, February 19-20
Jay Shewfelt has spent last two years on the OCAA Executive as Vice President of Programs. He has worked at St. Clair College for seven years.
