The ATHENA Foundation is an international organization that was established to help open doors of leadership for women. In 1996, Windsor became the first Canadian city to present the ATHENA Award. With the support of the Windsor-Essex Chamber of Commerce and the sponsorship of Dan Kane Chevrolet Cadillac, this award has been a pinnacle award in our community since that time. Each year the ATHENA Scholarship Award honours outstanding individuals at a post secondary level who display solid values and academic excellence. Recipients must be interested in increasing leadership opportunities for women, enhancing the quality of life in their community, mentoring, team building and pursuing diversity.
