St. Clair College Basketball Sweep Sault on Remembrance Day

(Windsor, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Women’s Basketball team pull their OCAA West Region record to an even 2-2 with a 72-26 win over Sault College (Sault Ste. Marie) Saturday night at the SportsPlex. The Lady Saints only allowed 7 points in the first half and held a 33-7 at the intermission. Never threatened in the game St. Clair was able to get 10 players on the score sheet and put up 38 points off 36 Sault turnovers.

Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph’s) scored a game high 14 points to lead St. Clair adding 4 rebounds and a pair of steals. Nicole Tamm (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) also reached double figures with 11 points to go with 9 rebounds and made 7 of 7 from the free throw line. She also added 4 assists 3 blocked shots. Logan Kucera (Chatham, ON) chipped in with 10 points for the Saints.

Sault’s Mackenzie Mazzuca (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) scored 7 points in the loss.

Women's Volleyball Improve to 3-1

(Windsor, Ontario) – The St. Clair College women’s volleyball team improved their OCAA record to 3-1 on the season defeating the Sheridan Bruins on Friday night at the Sportsplex.

The Saints won the match by a score of 3-1. Game scores for St. Clair were 25-19, 21-25, 25-16 and 25-20. It was a solid all around team effort by St. Clair. Chloe Stachow (Windsor) led the way offensively with 11 kills, 2 assists and 12 digs. Te-Anna Stephenson (Whitby) had a great match as well with 8 kills, 1 service ace, 1 stuff block and 11 digs. The St. Clair women are currently ranked 4th in Ontario. The loss dropped Sheridan’s record to 2-1. The Bruins were ranked 7th in the OCAA heading into the match.

St. Clair College Basketball 4-0 in Weekend Home Stand with Sault

(Windsor, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Women’s Basketball team is now 3-2 in OCAA West Region play after an 85-22 win over Sault College (Sault Ste. Marie) at the SportsPlex Sunday afternoon. The Lady Saints led 44-13 by halftime and the short-benched Cougars could not make any inroads in the second half. St. Clair shot nearly as well from deep (48%) as they did in total field goals (51%). The Saints backed that up with stifling defense and actually held Sault scoreless in the fourth quarter.

St. Clair’s Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, ON/St. Joseph’s) led all scorers with 12 points adding 4 assists. Logan Kucera (Chatham, ON) scored 11 points for the Saints adding a couple of assists. Nicole Tamm (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) and Jana Kucera (Chatham, ON) each also reached double figures with 10 points apiece for St. Clair.
