(Windsor, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Women's Basketball program will be lifted by the addition of some new recruits for the 2016-17 season. The Saints are excited to announce commitments from Elena Caldarelli from Lakeshore and Shianne Riggan from Cambridge.

Caldarelli is a 5'7" guard from local powerhouse St. Anne High School and the Windsor Valiants JUEL team who will be enrolled in St. Clair's Pre-Health Sciences program. "Elena's skill set gives us valuable depth at the guard position and I expect her to compete for a top seven role on the team. She played for a winning high school program in addition to the super competitive JUEL league. We are thrilled to bring in a player of her caliber," said St. Clair Head Coach Andy Kiss.

Riggan is a 5'3" guard from Jacob Hespeler Secondary School in Cambridge who averaged 12.0 PPG, 8.0 APG, and 6.0 RPG in her senior season with the Hawks in 2015. She was recognized as a Tri-Cities Top 40 All-Star in addition to winning team MVP honours. Riggan will be attending St. Clair's Sport & Recreation Management program. "Shianne plays the point guard and 2-guard position and we also expect her to compete for a spot in our rotation. She brings a mature, responsible, and competitive attitude who is currently working with a personal trainer in the K-W area. We are very happy to bring in a player of Shianne's caliber and character into our program at St. Clair," commented Saints Head Coach Andy Kiss.
