(Windsor, Ontario) – The St. Clair College Women’s Basketball got off to a great start in the season by defeating Lambton College (Sarnia) by a score of 81-38 in their OCAA West Region regular season home opener Friday night at the SportsPlex. The Saints quickly mounted a double-digit lead in the first quarter and never looked back. After opening with a 19-5 advantage entering the second quarter St. Clair increased their lead to 40-14 by halftime. The Lady Saints scored 20 second chance points in the contest after clearing 25 offensive rebounds.
The St. Clair Men’s Basketball team moved their OCAA West Region record to 3-0 after a 96-78 win in their league home opener over Lambton College (Sarnia) Friday night at the SportsPlex. The Saints were comfortably in control from the outset in front of good home crowd quickly building a 28-18 lead by the end of the first quarter. By halftime that lead grew to 46-31 and allowed St. Clair to get action for each and every one of their 14 dressed players holding their largest lead (64-38) in the third quarter. Lambton made a nice run in the 4th quarter cutting the deficit to just 10 points with about 5 minutes to play but the Saints responded restoring order to secure the win.
